Our first service project is complete! Kindergarten launched our #MakeaDifference campaign and learned how they can show their love for God in their actions toward others.
We had fun hats, sports hats, and silly hats (including a chicken!). The day was a huge success, and Kindergarten raised $400 for St. Jude.
Thank you all for your support!
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, so Kindergarten is sponsored Hats Off for Cancer Day. Students (and staff!) are asked to bring in a small donation ($1-5) for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. If they do, they get to wear a hat ALL DAY!
Here is some information about childhood cancer from the St. Jude website: Each year, 175,000 children and teens are diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 16,000 of these cases will be in the U.S. Even here, doctors often send their toughest cases to St. Jude because they have the world's best survival rates for some of the most aggressive childhood cancers. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food. St. Jude shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Thanks for supporting our #MakeaDifference campaign! We now have a bulletin board set up to track our progress this year and highlight the service projects. You can see project descriptions and photos on the bulletin board as you enter the first floor hallway.
