On the second Sunday of Easter this year, Pope Francis released his bull Misericordiae Vultus, proclaiming the coming "Jubilee Year of Mercy". This holy year will officially begin on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception in December.
Here at St. Anna's, we have chosen to embrace the Year of Mercy with our #MakeaDifference campaign. We are following Pope Francis as the guide in our campaign:
"Jesus asks us also to forgive and to give. To be instruments of mercy because it was we who first received mercy from God. To be generous with others, knowing that God showers his goodness upon us with immense generosity... Let us open our eyes and see the misery of the world, the wounds of our brothers and sisters who are denied their dignity, and let us recognize that we are compelled to heed their cry for help!"
Each month, one class will choose a different organization in need of support. They will lead the school in a service project to contribute to that organization, whether that is through collecting donations or volunteering their time. Check back soon for more updates!
