The primary goal of the art program is to allow students to experience the art process through which they can express ideas which leads to growth in problem solving.  Art is a medium of expression for student’s thoughts and feelings. From every challenging experience in the social and physical world the student gains ideas. These ideas, when communicated through art media, are clarified and remade in the student’s individual way. Students grow in the ability to express ideas using the symbols of art ~ line, space, form, color, and texture. Students who work with paint or clay have some understanding of the process involved in a great painting or sculpture, and the problem of transferring an idea into a visual form.   Art adds to the student’s appreciation of design and color, and his/her ability to use good art judgment in his/her own selection of everyday objects and materials.
