St. Anna School offers a balanced curriculum which is set forth by the Diocese of Worcester and the Massachusetts Department of Education. It emphasizes the core learnings of language arts, science, social science, mathematics and religion.  St. Anna’s curriculum also includes art, theater arts, foreign languages, and physical education, and music.

The curriculum is designed to help students feel challenged and competent in their mastery of learning. The core learnings outlined in the curriculum are statements of expected outcomes achieved in the course of the Grade K-8 educational program.  These are overarching outcomes, not attributable to any one grade or subject area.

The curriculum guidelines are an outline. Teachers use varied resources and teaching approaches to enhance and expand learning and encourage children to work to their personal best.   The core learnings outlined in the curriculum can in effect be used to summarize a year’s work which then can be shared with the next year’s teacher.   They set an educational direction for teachers and students as they work together.
