The primary goal of the science program is to give students a systematic approach to scientific problem solving. Science teaching and learning reflects inquiry and research methods. The classroom environment is structured to promote questions, possibilities, and conclusions. Students study science using a hands-on, inquiry-based approach. This approach allows students to develop and use process skills in order to gain a scientific body of knowledge.
In Grade 6-8, the science curriculum guidelines include earth, life and physical science. The teachings are broken down into three levels: Level I, includes structure and systems; Level II, continuity and change; Level III, interaction and cycles. Our curriculum is designed to promote what scientist do through inquiry, hands-on activities, and group process learning. The goal is for the students to develop process skills and critical thinking.
