VOLUNTEERS & CHAPERONES
We are always blessed to have parents and parishioners who volunteer at school or chaperone our field trips. We have the Preschool/Kindergarten Sholan Farm trip coming up soon... ALL volunteers and chaperones MUST have a completed CORI form (they are good for 2 years), you must complete the Safe Environment Course (we have an online option available) and you must also have your SAFIS- Fingerprinting completed as well.
This is for the safety of all our children. Please contact the office and we'd be happy to help you complete all of these components to get you on our volunteer/chaperone list!
LAST CALL for our 2nd Annual Color Run. The 5K is open to EVERYONE! Students, families, friends, and the public. Please share all of the registration links and forms with everyone you know! The more the merrier. The 5K and fun run will take place on Saturday, October 1st at Saima Park in Fitchburg at 10:00.
We have a 'fun run' and obstacle course set up for the little ones too! This is sure to be another family fun event.
Sponsor forms were sent home this week. Please return your labels as soon as possible. Each family that returns their 10 labels earns an out of dress! We can accept online donations- please share with family and friends! All proceeds will help us install the last 2 interactive projectors in classrooms.
We can also use some volunteers to help the morning of the event. We can use help at the registration table, spraying our runners with color, helping at the finish line.
Please check out the volunteer sign up and add your name! (or email Mrs. French)

We can now accept on-line donations for the Color Run- Share with Friends and Family!
I am excited to announce that we have hired Noah Dawson to be our Drama Director.
He comes with a BS in Communications Media, with a concentration in Theater from Fitchburg State University. Mr. Dawson has worked in various capacities for the Fitchburg Art Museum and in professional theater, including a tour around New England and running his own theater company.
Drama will be on Thursdays after school this year. We are still looking forward to both a Christmas and Spring show. If you're interested in joining drama- look for the sign ups below in the activities section.
All students in kindergarten through grade 5 completed the Fall DIBELS Assessment.
DIBELS are measures that help teachers and schools determine how students are performing on important reading skills. DIBELS stands for Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills.
The critical skills necessary for successful beginning reading include: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Students who are identified as needing additional support in reading based on DIBELS results, classroom performance and teacher observation will be sent home a letter next week. These students will work with Mrs. Earley our Instructional Support Teacher who is also a certified reading specialist.
If your child is not identified as needing additional support and you would like to know the results for their DIBELS testing, please email your child's classroom teacher.
We will also be completing the Math Assessment later this Fall.
Please join us for Curriculum Night Tuesday, September 27th from 5:30-7:00. This is an opportunity for PARENTS to meet the classroom teachers and learn about what to expect for their child(ren) this year. You will learn about the curriculum as well as classroom expectations....
We will have 1st through 5th grade teachers available to parents from 5:30-6:15 (they will do their presentations twice (5:30-5:50 and 5:55-6:15).
Middle School teachers will meet with parents in the cafeteria from 6:15-7:00 This will give middle school parents the opportunity to hear from all teachers as well as for parents with multiple children to have the opportunity to meet with more of their children's teachers.
Please remember this is a night for parents to come to school... Children get the night off and get to stay at home!
We hope to see you all there!
BASKETBALL SEASON IS COMING...
Basketball season will be here before we know it. This is one of St. Anna's highlights every year. We need to start planning now for a smooth start to the season. We are again looking for coaches at all levels. We need to have dedicated parents and volunteers who are willing to teach our students the game of basketball and sportsmanship. Coaches are the heart of our basketball program. We will be looking for coaches at most levels- grades 1/2, 3/4, and boys 5/6, girls 7/8. If you would like to coach this year or are a returning coach- please let Mrs. French know so we can begin planning.
All coaches will need to take the CDC Concussion Training, complete a CORI, fingerprinting and safe environment online program.
Basketball sign ups will begin in October!
