Wow! We survived our first full week of school. There's LOTS of excitement at school today as we prepare for our "Once Upon A Time" Welcome Back BBQ. The school was filled with the joy and laughter of many fairy tale characters. There were lots of princess', princes', pirates, Decendants, little pigs, big bad wolves, Red Riding Hoods, Dorothies, fairies, and super heros! Weeven had Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
Our events always get bigger and better! We sold out of chicken dinners this year but have plenty of burgers and dogs. No one will go home hungry. The kids are looking forward to the snack food anyway (ice cream, popcorn, caramel apples and the ever popular Slushy).
Games and more games. Don't miss the cash cube! Awesome prizes to be won.
Stop in the photo booth too. Pictures will be sent home next week :)

We are already in the planning phase for our fall event on November 11th. Design Squad is open to students in grades 3-8. It is from 12:00-4:00 and during that time they participate in a variety of challenges (building a circuit for a dance pad, something to kick a ping pong ball, a shelter, etc.) it also includes a chemistry experiment and we've even had an introduction to CAD. This program is successful because of our volunteers and several of our volunteers have moved on as their children have graduated. We'd like to keep this program running in the Fall and Spring and are looking for volunteers. We like to have one volunteer for each group of 4 students. They help guide the students as they brainstorm ways to solve the problem and create their inventions. If you are interested in volunteering or for more information- please contact Mrs. Laura Pompei. She also welcomes ideas for the planning of this year's event and choosing a theme.
