TERRA NOVA RESULTS
The Terra Nova results for students in grades 3-8 have finally come in. Please check your child’s backpack. They should have come home yesterday or today. Please read the apology letter from the company. We appreciate your patience and hope to have this issue resolved for next year.
We can’t wait to celebrate all of our amazing Grandparents with a special Mass at school next week on THURSDAY October 19th at 10:00 AM,

We will hosting our annual Scholastic Fall Book Fair in the gym next week! Also, to accommodate the Grandparents Day crowd, we will again have extra registers open to make checkout a breeze - no lines, no waiting! Parents are welcome to shop the Fair any of the open hours or with special arrangements.
For those who are unable to make any of the Fair hours, we will again have online shopping available! Any book offered at the Fair will also be available for purchase online. The Online Fair will be open from 10/11/17 - 10/24/17. Books ordered online will be delivered to the school 7-10 days after the Online Fair ends and will be sent home with your child(ren). Please let the office know if the books are gifts that you would rather pick up and they can be held in the office for you. You can visit the Online Book Fair
If you would like to help out at the Fair, please use the sign-up sheet to add your name and THANK YOU!

"All for Books"
During the Book Fair week, we will be participating in a Scholastic Books fundraiser to benefit our adopted school, St. Christopher, in Houston, TX. The fundraiser is called "All for Books" and will be a coin-drive that will help St. Christopher School restock their bookshelves with books from Scholastic! In addition to helping St. Christopher, Scholastic Book Fairs® will also match the monetary donations with a donation of up to $1 million in books from The Scholastic Possible Fund, which distributes books to children through organizations such as the Kids In Need Foundation, Reader to Reader, Inc., and the National Center for Families Learning. Since we are holding this fundraiser in October, we thought we'd make it fun with a Halloween theme (after all, the first part of "books" is "BOO"!) Please see the flyer for more details!
Students in preschool to grade 3 will enjoy the Mount Wachusett Community College traveling children’s play on Friday, October 20th at 9:30. ALL preschool students are welcome to attend. If it is not your child’s regularly scheduled day- you’re welcome to bring them and stay with them for the performance. It is about an hour.
Based on the book “Pinkalicious” by Victoria Kann & Elizabeth Kann
Presented by special arrangement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW)
Pinkalicious can’t stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor’s office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe – a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament. Pinkalicious the Musical is about learning the power of self-control and the importance of moderation.
PAINT NIGHT OUT!
The PTO has arranged a Paint Night for Parents/Friends on Friday, October 20th at 7:00pm at Art On The Rocks in Fitchburg. The cost is $40 per person and the project is a school themed photo holder.
For anyone who has never done a paint night, let me tell you, it is a BLAST! You are given step by step instructions as you paint, and your final product will come out awesome, even if you've never painted before (speaking from experience!!). Art On The Rocks is sort of like a "paint bar" except that they don't have a bar, BUT, you are more than welcome to bring your own "adult beverages" 🍷🍻😊
Pre-registration is required and should be done online at https://artontherocksma.com/Fitchburg-Calendar/10-20-2017-7-00-00-PM.aspx

TEAL PUMPKIN PROJECT
The Teal Pumpkin Project encourages people to raise awareness of food allergies and promotes inclusion of all trick-or-treaters throughout the Halloween season. The steps to participate are:
The second and third grade students have begun a 3 month service project in which we will be collecting white cotton or thermal socks or cotton underwear to be distributed to homeless shelters, women’s shelters, and the elderly of our community. We often don’t realize or simply forget that those in need have needs other than food.
It is our hope that each student in grades two through eight might participate by bringing a small package of socks or underwear each month (Oct., Nov., Dec.) to be collected by the second and third grade students and distributed to the appropriate agency for distribution to residents who live in our school community area.
Please consider helping those who are in need of socks or underwear for the cold winter ahead.
A small package of socks or underwear each month is a small price to pay for knowing that the elderly in our neighborhoods are going to be warm this winter.
Thank You from the second and third grade students of St. Anna Catholic School
