Thank you to everyone for all of the love, support and condolences at the passing of my mother-in-law, Lucy. We are blessed to be part of the St. Anna community. Please know that all of your emails, cards, and kind words have been greatly appreciated.
Please note there will be NO School Masses on November 16 and November 30 as Father Fred will be on vacation.
There has also been a change in date for the Christmas Concert. The PK-5 Christmas Concert will take place on Wednesday, December 21st at 1:30.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are being held for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade on Monday, November 21 from 12:30-7:00 and Tuesday, November 22 from 12:30-3:00. (these are early release days at 11:30)
You can schedule your child’s conference(s) through Option C. When you log in, there should be a button that says sign up for conferences.
You can schedule conferences to meet with your child’s classroom teacher (K-3). Do NOT sign up for a conference with Mr. Farnsworth.
4th and 5th grade you can schedule a conference with your child’s homeroom teacher and their science/math teacher.
Middle School Parents can choose which subject teachers you feel you need to meet with. (Miss Ellis, Mr. Langley, Mrs. Petty and Mr. Farnsworth)
Mr. Farnsworth is doing parent teacher conferences for 7th grade Math and his 8th grade algebra classes…. Pease do NOT sign up for a conference with Mr. Farnsworth if your child is not in one of his math classes. He is NOT doing conferences for PE.
You have until 7:00AM on November 21st to sign up for conferences. If you need to sign up for a conference after that time- please contact the office.
If you cannot sign up for conferences through Option C- you can contact your child’s teacher or the office and we’d be happy to help you schedule your conferences.
SOCKS FOR SANTA
The second and third grade students have begun a 2 ½ month service project in which we will be collecting white cotton or thermal socks or cotton underwear to be distributed to homeless shelters, women’s shelters, and the elderly of our community. We often don’t realize or simply forget that those in need have needs other than food.
It is our hope that each student in grades two through eight might participate by bringing a small package of socks or underwear each month (Oct., Nov., Dec.) to be collected by the second and third grade students and distributed to the appropriate agency for distribution to residents who live in our school community area.
Please consider helping those who are in need of socks or underwear for the cold winter ahead.
A small package of socks or underwear each month is a small price to pay for knowing that the elderly in our neighborhoods are going to be warm this winter.
Thank You from the second and third grade students of St. Anna Catholic School
Please join the Friends of St. Anna PTO to ring in the Advent season with a Family Advent Wreath making night on November 18th from 6:00-7:00 at the church hall. The cost is only $10 per family and includes the supplies for making your live greenery wreath (candles are not provided). We are asking that families pre-register here before November 10th so we have an accurate count for supplies. We hope you can join us!
HEARTS FOR HEAT
The grade 6-7-8 students are planning their annual service project to raise funds through a Thanksgiving Bake Sale for families of our parish who may be in need of assistance this year in the purchase of home heating oil.
They plan to sell homemade baked goods to members of the school community who come to parent-teachers conferences on Monday, Nov. 21st and Tuesday, Nov. 22nd.
All profits from this endeavor go directly to the purchase of oil through Fraticelli. Last year we were able to provide almost $700.00 from the bake sale towards this goal.
If you are willing and able to bake a cake, cupcakes, pie, cookies, breads, or any other “sweet” which the students can sell during parent conferences, please contact Mrs. Priddy
And don't forget to stop by the sale when you come to conferences! Lots of delicious treats for everyone.
Our Annual Turkey Trot will take place on Tuesday, November 22nd at 9:30.
Students in grades K-2 will run laps around the lawn across the street where we now have some gym classes. Mr. Farnsworth will have a 'track' marked with cones. Volunteers help tally the number of laps they complete while they are cheered on by the preschoolers and older students.
Students in grades 3-8 then complete their turkey trot race on a route that goes from the in front of the church, down sixth street, across middle and eventually finishes back in front of the church where the other students are able to cheer them on as they cross the finish! ALL students in K-8 are welcome to sign up to race. There is no fee; however we ask that everyone brings in a non-perishable food item to help restock the St. Anna food pantry. Mrs. Priddy is also looking for helpers to supervise along the route or track the younger students' laps. Please email her if you’re able to help that morning.
Please sign up your child if they plan on participating in the trot!
Winter Uniforms have begun... Please refer to the Parent Student Handbook for more information. Some important notes:
GIFT CARDS MAKE GREAT GIFTS-- St. Anna PTO - Great Lake Scrips Gift Card Program
The St. Anna PTO will once again offer "One Stop Shopping" for all of your Christmas Gift Card needs! You can order all of your gift cards in one place, at one time and they are delivered directly to the school. No running from store to store or standing in long lines. There are over 300 major retailers to choose from and the biggest bonus - the retailers donate a portion of the cards value back to St. Anna School! It is fundraising while you shop! You can also order gift cards and use them for your everyday purchases. Stock up on Dunkin Donuts, Panera or Starbucks cards and use them to purchase your morning coffee.
Please visit www.shopwithscrip.com to create an online account. Detailed instructions can be found on the school website.
If you don't want to create an online account, you can download a copy of the order form and submit it with your payment to Mrs. Priddy in the main office.
