STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
We thank you for your generosity, kindness and compassion this week. It has truly been a blessing and we are very fortunate to have amazing parents and families like you. The luncheon yesterday was perfect and our staff really enjoyed the hour off to visit, relax and eat the delicious food that was made just for them.
DRESS LIKE YOUR ROLE MODEL!
May 17th you can come to school dressed as your role model! This is a student driven fundraiser to raise money for an end of the year activity- Mr. Nicky is coming to do a show for students in Grades 5-8. It is $3 a student or $5 a family. We can't wait to see your creativity and who your role model is!!

SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS
We will again offer parents the opportunity to purchase back to school supply kits that will be delivered to your child’s classroom the first day of school. Now that’s EASY back to school supply shopping. A copy of the order form should have come home with your child. You can also order your supply kits online: The link for the website is www.shopttkits.com. The account # is 32034.
School supply kits are available for students in preschool-grade 8. There’s also an optional calculator for middle school students.
MARY POPPINS THE MUSICAL!
Wow! What a show. They did an Ah-Mazing job! If you did not see it on Thursday night- you won’t want to miss Friday’s performance at 7:00.
MOTHER SON VOLLEYBALL GAME
On Saturday, May 19th we will host our Mother/Son Volleyball Game from 1:00-3:00 in the gym. We invite boys and their moms in Grades PK to Grade 8 to participate in the game. We will be using a beach ball in a similar format from the student/teacher game. A lower ‘net’ for younger students and the regular net for older students.
Immediately following will be an Ice Cream Sundae Social for EVERYONE grades PK-8.

CROWNING OF MARY
Please join us on Friday, May 18th as we celebrate the month of our Blessed Mother with a traditional procession and Litany. The procession from the front of the school to the playground to the statue of Our Blessed Mother Mary will begin at 10:00. All are welcome to join us.
Hi families of Saint Anna’s,
My name is Lindsey Guthrie and I’m a seventh grader at Saint Anna’s. For my 13th birthday, I have decided to do a clothing drive. In all honesty, whether I like to admit it or not, I do not need anything else in my drawers or on my shelves but some other people do. My mom and I have found a place that take clothes and food donations and donate them to a good cause: Ginny’s Closet here in Leominster.
To make this successful, I would love it if all of you helped out. I am just asking for you to maybe go through your closets, find anything that doesn’t fit or maybe isn’t your style, wash them, and put them in a trash bag. We are fine with any shirts, pants, shorts, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves and lightly worn shoes. You do not need to worry about sizes or sorting them, that is where I come in.
We are planning on having the drop off at Ginny’s ( in the parking lot) , 52 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Saturday, May 19 from 10am to 1pm. They accept ALL THINGS you would use in a home. From silverware, to furniture and decorations. The only things they do not take are: Tube TVs, baby cribs, mattresses, books/encyclopedias and used toys/games/puzzles (too many missing pieces). They also take ALL Food donations. If you are unable to make it to Ginny’s but have donations, we can also accept them at school on Friday.

OPERATION MILITARY CARE K-9
The NJHS is doing a service project and collecting items for K-9’s – Our US Military Working Dog Teams who have been deployed need our help to supply them with some items they need (Kongs, poop bags, dog treats made in the USA, grooming tools, rubber balls etc.) The NJHS will be collecting items until June 1st.
Please remember that Extended Care closes promptly at 5:30. The end of the year is quickly approaching. All extended care accounts will need to be paid up by June 1st in order for you to utilize extended care services for the month of June. If you need to know your balance, please check Option C or contact Mrs. Priddy. Thank you for helping us get all of our accounts up to date.
We are very excited to announce that Field Day (K-8) will take place on June 8th (there is no rain date but an indoor contingency plan) We are going to again bus students to the MA Youth Soccer Fields over by Kimballs!!! We will spend the day there playing a variety of field day events at each station. We will enjoy a bagged lunch break, watermelon and additional activities for those that need to keep moving!!! We will have tented areas for shade as well as a first aid station. Students will have plenty of water too but don’t forget the sunscreen. We will be in need of parent volunteers to help run the various stations, help set up and clean up.

We offer a salad bar option every day- either as a meal or side. Students are able to choose from a variety of veggies and proteins to make their own salad.
NJHS Ice Cream Sales continue every Friday for $1
and the Vending Machine is stocked with healthy drink options.. water, Gatorade, juice, iced tea.
We also have a water station so students can have plenty of water at lunch.
Congratulations to Alyssa Carlin our new PTO President! We wish her the best as she finishes out Kathy LeBlanc’s term this coming year. We wish Kathy and Colin the best of luck as they join the St. John’s family next year. Alyssa is joining current Vice President, Michelle Mainguy, Secretary, Julia Keiselbach and Treasurer, Marian Priddy on the executive board.
