Dear SACS Families,
Happy snow day! I know some of the students are excited to finally have a day off to play in the snow. We were only a day away from the 100th day too. We had an exciting busy Catholic Schools Week even though we didn’t get through the whole week. We’ve had many new families come visit our school to see what all the excitement is all about. We also had a record number of people attend the Super Bowl Pasta Supper. I can’t thank all of our volunteers and supporters enough. You really showed your love of St. Anna’s this week. For me, the best part of the week was seeing all of our courageous and talented students show off their various skills at the talent show yesterday.
I want to wish all of our basketball teams good luck this weekend at their various playoff and championship games. You can come to St. Anna’s to cheer on our 3rd/4th teams at 9:00, 1:25 and then hopefully at the championship game at 3:00. The boys 7/8 and 5/6 teams are playing their championship games at the St. Bernard’s Activity Center at 11:15 & 12:30. You don’t want to miss the 5/6 & 7/8 girl’s playoff games at Monty Tech at 1:00 & 2:00. We can also use concession help at the school from 8:00-4:00 for anyone already feeling snowed in!

Lego Club - Parent Volunteers Needed!! - Lego Donations Needed!!St. Anna's will be hosting a six week after-school Lego Club for students in grades 1 - 3. The club will meet every Tuesday from 3:30 - 4:30, from March 8th - April 12th. We are in need of parent volunteers to help supervise the group. We are looking for a student to adult ratio of 4:1. Please contact Mrs. French (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Wendy Thomas (email@example.com) to volunteer. Thank you!!
We are also in need of, either, new or used Lego donations! If you, or anyone you know, has any Lego's kicking around that you want to unload, we can definitely use them in the Club! The Lego Company has been generous enough to send us a donation box filled with all sorts of different pieces to help get us started (kudos to the Lego Company!) and we could use some more to really get the Master Builders building! Some specific items that we are in need of; wheels & tires, axles, and base plates (for individual student use). Lego donations can be sent into the school office. Please contact Mrs. French (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Wendy Thomas (email@example.com) with any questions. Thank you!!
Student sign-up information coming soon!!
WINTER DRESS CODEPlease remember that we are in the winter dress season. With the current cold weather we have had indoor recess; however we will go outside if the temperature is 25 degrees or above (taking into consideration the wind chill). Please make sure your child is dressed warm enough in the event we do go outside for recess. Students also need to change into school shoes if they choose to wear boots to school or outside.
#MAKE A DIFFERENCEThe 4th grade class is organizing a collection in honor of the Pope’s Year of Mercy. They are asking for items needed to create Jared Boxes, plastic boxes filled with toys and diversions for young people in the hospital. Each grade level will be asked to donate supplies for boxes meant to go to certain age levels. Please see the jaredbox.com for more information about this national mission. There’s a suggested toy list which will be posted in each classroom highlighting their assigned age group: PreK-grade 2: birth to age2 & grades 3-5: ages 4-8 & grades 6-8: One of our current 4th grade students was going through chemotherapy at the age of one for liver cancer and he received a Jared Box which brightened this tough time for him and his family. We want to be able to pay this gesture forward during this Year of Mercy and the month of love and compassion.
SUPER BOWL PASTA SUPPERThank you for everyone that came out to support the supper! We had a record 354 people join us for a delicious pasta dinner. There were many excited students as they waited patiently for their raffle ticket number to be called. You can check out photos of the evening by visiting our Facebook page:
