Dear SACS Families, We are busy preparing for our week of Terra Nova testing next week. We have also been enjoying some of the early spring weather we’ve been treated to this week. The kids love getting outside to run around and play. They enjoy it much more when they are not all bundled up.
We are offering a new session of after school programs, including two new programs: Lego Club & Cooking Club. Look for the sign up links at the bottom of Friday Mail. I’ve also posted the upcoming dates through the end of April!
REGISTRATIONTuition rates and new registration forms were emailed home on Monday, February 1st. Copies of the forms are also available on the website or Mrs. Priddy can send them home with your child upon request. If you are planning to apply for financial assistance please visit the website and apply before March 15, 2016. https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3H1T8
We will be extending the registration deadline for current families to April 1st at the $125 fee rate. The tuition fee will increase to $250 on April 1st. We’ve extended the deadline as we realize that some of you are currently taking advantage of the golf tournament early bird registration price and will also be purchasing your Gala tickets. We know it can be difficult to come up with these funds all at once.
TERRA NOVA TESTINGStudents in grades 2-8 will have their Terra Nova testing March 1-8. Please help your child get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast to prepare them for a day of testing. It is important to arrive to school on-time each day as testing will begin promptly at 9:00 for most classes. You can get a specific schedule from your child’s teachers. Please read the attached letter.

'A MEDIEVAL KNIGHT' - THE 18TH ANNUAL GALA Our annual Gala is the school’s major fundraiser which in the past five years alone, has contributed over $160,000 to our school. Whether you have attended, made donations, purchased raffle tickets or participated in the silent auction, please know your contributions are appreciated. But, your continued support is needed.
The Gala is on Saturday, April 9th at the Knights of Columbus, Leominster. Our theme is “A Medieval Knight” and we will be honoring members of the Knights of Columbus and the memory of Mrs. Madeline Girouard. Come dressed in your best Medieval costume if you’d like! You could be Merida or Queen Elinor fromBrave; Maid Marian or King Richard from Robin Hood; Lancelot or Guinevere from King Arthur. The possibilities are endless! Although the possibilities are endless, what matters most is your support!
We have been blessed with so many dedicated volunteers at St. Anna Parish and School. Mrs. Girouard was one of them. She served on the founding Gala committee for ten years and last year, lost a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Girouard's support of our school cannot be expressed in words. This Gala is our tribute to her.
You will enjoy a wonderful evening including appetizers, dinner and an array of delicious desserts with coffee to conclude the evening. Music will be provided by DJ Ray Richard and there will be a dedication ceremony honoring the members of the Knights of Columbus and the memory of Mrs. Madeline Girouard. There are over 30 raffle items including an Instant Wine Bar, Walt Disney World Park Hopper Passes, Dandini Dumpster and more. Our silent auction features Celtics tickets, Airplane Ride over the Quabbin and Cupcake Decorating Party from Aunty Ellen’s Creative Confections.
Tickets for “A Medieval Knight” Gala are $50 per person. It is going to be great fun and for a good cause. Please check your child's backpack for the invitation or you can download the invitation here!
If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Father Frederick Fraini, III email@example.com
PASTA SUPPER- THANK YOUThank you to everyone who attended our pasta supper. We were able to raise over $4,000 toward the spring field trips. We want to especially thank Ciccone Chiropratic, Texas Roadhouse, Esspresso Pizza and Athens Pizza for their donations that made the dinner possible. We would also like to thank all of our other wonderful donors for their support of the dinner and raffle: Applebees, Auntie Ellen's Creative Confections, Chili's, Cristina's Restaurant, Friday's, Friendly's, Hannafords, Il Camino Restaurant, Mezcal Cantina, Olive Garden, Sandra's Touch Photography, Shancakes, Stop N Shop, Target, Walmart, Wicked Hair & Nails. And finally, we want to thank all of our amazing volunteers who organized this event, cooked (all day!), baked, sold raffle tickets, served, cleaned up and in some way contributed to make this an extremely successful event.
#MAKE A DIFFERENCEThe 4th grade class is organizing a collection in honor of the Pope’s Year of Mercy. They are asking for items needed to create Jared Boxes, plastic boxes filled with toys and diversions for young people in the hospital. Each grade level will be asked to donate supplies for boxes meant to go to certain age levels. Please see the jaredbox.com for more information about this national mission.
There’s a suggested toy list which will be posted in each classroom highlighting their assigned age group: PreK-grade 2: birth to age2 & grades 3-5: ages 4-8 & grades 6-8: ages 8 and up
One of our current 4th grade students was going through chemotherapy at the age of one for liver cancer and he received a Jared Box which brightened this tough time for him and his family. We want to be able to pay this gesture forward during this Year of Mercy and the month of love and compassion.
YEARBOOKThe 2015-2016 St. Anna Tiger Yearbook is NOW on sale! Don’t miss out on preserving the memories of another exciting and busy school year. Please fill out and return the order form
I’ve had some inquiries on the increase on the cost of this year’s book. The cost of the book has increased as we use a custom cover and we have added more pages to incorporate more of our amazing events and we sell less than 100 books. The cost of the book to produce is $43. We are able to provide the book for $30 through the selling of 8th grade and business ads. The cost of the St. Anna Yearbook has not increased in the past 10 years.
