Dear SACS Families,
We have had a wonderful start to the season of Lent. The whole school attend Ash Wednesday Mass. Father gave a homily that really explained to the kids the meaning of the ashes and Lent. We donated all of the food we collected to Kylee’s Kare Kits which modeled to the students an act of almsgiving as we begin the Lenten season. We also talked about sharing God’s love with one another as we celebrated Valentine’s Day in the classrooms. You can feel the love, warmth and kindness flowing through the school this week.
Good luck to our girls’ basketball teams in their Championship games this weekend. Come cheer them on at Monty Tech this Saturday at 1:00 & 2:00.
Congratulations to our Spelling Bee winners; 1st Deepak Kolli, 2nd Sean Sweeney, 3rd Andrew Gardiner. Deepak will now move on to the Regional Spelling Bee on March 22nd.
May you and your family have a warm and relaxing vacation week. We will be busy preparing for the Terra Nova testing when we return.

The club will meet every Tuesday from 3:30 - 4:30, from March 8th - April 12th. We are in need of parent volunteers to help supervise the group. We are looking for a student to adult ratio of 4:1. Please contact Mrs. French (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Wendy Thomas (email@example.com) to volunteer. Thank you!!
We are also in need of, either, new or used Lego donations! If you, or anyone you know, has any Lego's kicking around that you want to unload, we can definitely use them in the Club! The Lego Company has been generous enough to send us a donation box filled with all sorts of different pieces to help get us started (kudos to the Lego Company!) and we could use some more to really get the Master Builders building! Some specific items that we are in need of; wheels & tires, axles, and base plates (for individual student use). Lego donations can be sent into the school office. Please contact Mrs. French (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Wendy Thomas (email@example.com) with any questions. Thank you!!
Student sign-up information coming soon!!
WINTER DRESS CODEPlease remember that we are in the winter dress season. With the current cold weather we have had indoor recess; however we will go outside if the temperature is 25 degrees or above (taking into consideration the wind chill). Please make sure your child is dressed warm enough in the event we do go outside for recess. Students also need to change into school shoes if they choose to wear boots to school or outside.
#MAKE A DIFFERENCEThe 4th grade class is organizing a collection in honor of the Pope’s Year of Mercy. They are asking for items needed to create Jared Boxes, plastic boxes filled with toys and diversions for young people in the hospital. Each grade level will be asked to donate supplies for boxes meant to go to certain age levels. Please see the jaredbox.com for more information about this national mission. There’s a suggested toy list which will be posted in each classroom highlighting their assigned age group: PreK-grade 2: birth to age2 & grades 3-5: ages 4-8 & grades 6-8: One of our current 4th grade students was going through chemotherapy at the age of one for liver cancer and he received a Jared Box which brightened this tough time for him and his family. We want to be able to pay this gesture forward during this Year of Mercy and the month of love and compassion.
