This really is the most wonderful time of the year. I love the wonder and amazement in the little one's eyes as we prepare for the arrival of Christmas and the birth of Jesus. We have many activities planned to celebrate the blessings of Advent. We will light the Advent candles each Monday as a school, we are counting down the days to Christmas with the Jesse Tree 'ornaments' and our school Elf, Rudy is back to remind students about doing random acts of kindness for others during this season of giving.
Don't miss out on all the other amazing things happening at school this month:
Mark your calendars for this year’s FREE PTO Movie Night! This is our way of saying thank you for all you do to support the PTO all year long! It will be held on Saturday, December 10th from 5:00-8:00. This is a great opportunity for parents to drop off the kids for a quiet dinner or a little Christmas shopping. The kids will enjoy pizza, popcorn, crafts, activities and they will watch “Santa Buddies”. Don’t forget to wear your pj’s and bring a pillow or blanket to get cozy to watch the movie! This even will be supervised by PTO executive board members and NJHS Students. Children aged 3 (and potty trained) and older are welcome to attend….
Please sign up if you plan to have your children attend so we can plan accordingly.
SOCKS FOR SANTA
The second and third grade students have begun a 2 ½ month service project in which we will be collecting white cotton or thermal socks or cotton underwear to be distributed to homeless shelters, women’s shelters, and the elderly of our community. We often don’t realize or simply forget that those in need have needs other than food.
It is our hope that each student in grades two through eight might participate by bringing a small package of socks or underwear each month (Oct., Nov., Dec.) to be collected by the second and third grade students and distributed to the appropriate agency for distribution to residents who live in our school community area.
Please consider helping those who are in need of socks or underwear for the cold winter ahead.
A small package of socks or underwear each month is a small price to pay for knowing that the elderly in our neighborhoods are going to be warm this winter.
Thank You from the second and third grade students of St. Anna Catholic School
CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD
Students in grade preschool through third will participate in Christmas Around the World on Friday, December 9th. They will be learning about how a variety of countries celebrate Christmas. They will visit each classroom and will either complete a craft based on that country’s traditions or have a special snack. Room parents will be organizing this event. Teachers will escort their classes from room to room as our students experience Christmas from around the world!
JOY & HEARTS for HEAT
The Third Sunday in Advent is for Joy- On Monday, December 12th students can wear pink or red to school for $1 which will be donated to Hearts for Heat!

There are over 300 major retailers to choose from and the biggest bonus - the retailers donate a portion of the cards value back to St. Anna School! It is fundraising while you shop! You can also order gift cards and use them for your everyday purchases. Stock up on Dunkin Donuts, Panera or Starbucks cards and use them to purchase your morning coffee.
Please visit www.shopwithscrip.com to create an online account. Detailed instructions can be found on the school website.
If you don't want to create an online account, you can download a copy of the order form and submit it with your payment to Mrs. Priddy in the main office.
