Dear SACS Families,
We have been focusing on “waiting” during this Advent Season. Waiting is a difficult concept in this fast paced and immediate gratification age. I’m sure many of you have Advent Calendars to help your little ones countdown to Jesus’ Birthday.
The Spirit of the Holidays is in the air at St. Anna’s. The drama club put on an amazing Christmas Variety Show last night. We got to see Charlie Brown and gang, the Grinch whose heart grew 3 times its size, the Nutcracker dance and many other beautiful dances and songs!  We have some very talented young people that continue to amaze us with their beautiful voices.
We will continue to celebrate next week with our Polar Express Day and classroom parties. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a restful vacation.
UPDATED SCHOOL CALENDARPlease click here for the updated school calendar
POLAR EXPRESS DAYOn Monday, December 21st students will share in the magic of Christmas while coming to school decked out in their best pajama’s and come together to watch the Polar Express in the afternoon. Students are also allowed to bring a blanket to school which they can sit on while they enjoy the movie!  It’s sure to be a magical day.
TIGER TIMESCheck out our newly created Tiger Times Newletter by the students!
SOCKS FOR SANTAThank you to everyone that participated in Socks for Santa this year and donated socks and underwear to help those less fortunate. We gathered 625 pairs of socks/underwear for the program.  The socks are being donated to the St. Matthew 25 Society of St Anna Parish, and Our Father's House shelter for the homeless.
DRESS CODEPlease remember that we are in the winter dress season. Students can only wear shorts for gym class if they have the correct sweatpants to wear over them when they are not in gym class.  Students are also only allowed to wear St. Anna sweatshirts or sweaters in the building during the day. The Under Armor sweatshirts and others are ok for when they are outside at recess but not in class.  Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate footwear and they follow the out of dress guidelines on non-uniform days.  Students who do not follow the dress code will be given a uniform violation.
SWEATSHIRT ORDERSWe have some parents that would like to order St. Anna sweatshirts and we need a minimum of 12 to order- if you’d like to order one, please let us know and we can get you an order form. These will not be ready for Christmas but we hope to get enough orders to have them the beginning of January.
#MAKE A DIFFERENCEThe first grade did an amazing job singing Christmas Carols for the residents at Sunrise Living. They were so delighted by having the children come to visit them. The children also made angels to give them as a gift.  In January the second graders will be sending out more information as they focus on National Poverty Awareness Month by collecting items for Kaylee’s Kare Kits.
THANK YOU ST ANNA SOCIETY      We are very appreciative of the St. Anna Society donation of an AED Defibrillator for the school. It is located inside the gym door on the right.  We hope we never have to use it but are fortunate to have one available in the building in case of a medical emergency. We are grateful the society thought of us with their donation.
BASKETBALL SEASON IS HERE!All of our basketball schedules are posted on the website. Come cheer on our students at one of their games this season. We can also use help at our concession stand and/or admissions table throughout the season. We ask that parents of players try to volunteer for 2 hours during the season. If you volunteer, you will earn a season pass that will get you into all of the games played at St. Anna’s. Parents who do not volunteer will need to pay the admissions fee of $3 per game.
If your child is not playing, but you would still LOVE to sign up to help at the concessions- we welcome your help!
You can sign up to help on-line or by signing up at the concession stand any Saturday.
