Letter from Dr. Perda
The Diocese is developing a diocesan wide strategic plan and the next step in the data collection effort is the parent/guardian survey. ALL parents are asked to take a minute to complete the following survey for the diocese. Your voice is important- Thank you
It has been (and still seems to be) a l o n g winter! We know Spring is just around the corner and we can’t wait for warmer days, sunshine, budding trees and green grass! We know the end of the school year can be busy and hectic. We are going to have our Bishop’s Day (a day off from school granted by the Bishop himself when he came to St. Anna’s for Grandparent’s Day) on May 14th. This will give families a long weekend in May when hopefully you can enjoy some nicer weather. It is going to be a busy end of the year (see the upcoming events) and we want you to enjoy this extra day off!
Students in grades K-5 will be attending Theatre at the Mount’s production of Little Mermaid on Friday, April 13th. The cost is $10 per student. Please remember to fill out the permission form and send in your payment. We are excited to support our very own Elizabeth Mahoney and alumn, Mary Mahoney who are in the production!
SPRING BOOK FAIR
Summer is just around the corner and the Scholastic Spring Book Fair is a great place to stock up on your summer reading books!
The Book Fair will be open Monday, April 23rd through Friday, April 27th in the gym. Fair hours are as follows: Monday - Wednesday & Friday: 8:30am - 10:30am
Thursday: before and after the "Cirriculaughs program with Jeff Nathan", starting at 5:30pm until the 6:00 show and re-opening after the show ends at 7:00pm.
ALL are welcome to shop the Fair during any open hours! This is a BOGO (Buy One Get One - FREE) book fair! All "free" books are paired with the closest matching price so you are always assured the best possible deal! The following is an example of how the BOGO works:
Customer selects four books:
Book #1 = $2.00
Book #2 = $2.00 - FREE book!
Book #3 = $25.00
Book #4 = $20.00 - FREE book!
The total amount this customer would pay for all four books is $27.00 - What a bargain!
As with all our Book Fairs, forms of payment accepted are cash, check or credit card, and now, **NEW THIS FAIR**, students will be able to pay for books with "eWallets"
eWallets are spending accounts that parents can create online on the school's Scholastic Book Fair Homepage. Using a credit card, parents determine how much money their child can spend at the fair. The child then does not need to bring any money to the Fair, the transaction will be done at the register and will be applied to the child's eWallet account. Accounts can be set up, and/or adjusted, two weeks before the Fair begins through the last day of the Fair. Any money left unused on the account after the Fair ends, will be applied back to the parent's credit card. Check out the school's Scholastic Book Fair Homepage for more information and account set up instructions!
We are looking for volunteers to help set up and run the fair. If you are able to help out any of the days, please use the "Book Fair Volunteer Sign Up Sheet" to add your name to the time slot(s) that you are available. Thank you VERY much for your time!!
Award Wining Author Jeff Nathan will be with us on Thursday, April 26th. This program is sponsored by the Leominster Cultural Council Grant and PTO. This Literacy packed adventure is for students in grades K-5. Jeff will present a different program for each grade level from Language Arts through humor, figurative language and empowering alliteration as well as poetry fun. Our students will be excited to put these new skills to use in their writing. Jeff’s programs are as much fun as they are magic. Students have the opportunity to purchase Jeff’s book before he comes. Make sure you check out the personalized book “Which Monster Are You” for students aged 2-6! And lots of other choices on the flyer. His poetry books are my favorite. He will have some of his books available at the evening show and will offer autographing!
Mark your calendar for this family fun event: The Silly Laughing Musical Fun Poetry Show on Thursday, April 16th from 6:00-7:00. ALL are invited. See the flyer for more information.
